Tomato, lemon or simply olive oil: 3 tins to discover the fantastic Portuguese sardine preserves from the Tricana brand, the famous sardine tins traditionally sold in the small grocery store near Lisbon's "Praça do Comércio".
The quality of these preserves is due to the use of real, authentic Atlantic sardines, the "Pilchardus" sardines. It is also due to the traditional Portuguese preparation method whereby the sardines are selected and prepared by hand, one by one, pre-cooked and then canned in their own sauce.

Tricana preserves are probably the most famous outside Portugal, and everyone knows the little century-old grocery store hidden behind Lisbon's Place du Commerce, unchanged since 1942.
These unique preserves have withstood all changes and all competitors simply by maintaining the values initiated by Fernando da Silva Ferreira in 1942: refusal of mass production, rigorous selection of authentic ingredients and respect for traditional manufacturing methods.
