Fabulous Portuguese sardine fillets, fished off the coast of Portugal, prepared without skin or bones, preserved in olive oil, seasoned with peppers, hand-packed and wrapped in deliciously retro paper
The reputation of these Tricana preserves stems from their refusal to be mass-produced and their respect for traditional manufacturing methods. These sardines are canned only during the fishing season, from April onwards. Their origin is clear: the North Atlantic coast of Portugal. It's the guarantee of a healthy, meaty fish with sufficient fat preserved in olive oil.
Why I love it
- The freshness of the fish is immediately noticeable.
- The texture, both fleshy and melt-in-the-mouth.
- The delightfully retro Portuguese packaging design.

More informations ?
Tricana preserves are probably the most famous outside Portugal, and everyone knows the little century-old grocery store hidden behind Lisbon's Place du Commerce, unchanged since 1942.
These unique preserves have withstood all changes and all competitors simply by maintaining the values initiated by Fernando da Silva Ferreira in 1942: refusal of mass production, rigorous selection of authentic ingredients and respect for traditional manufacturing methods.
