Herdade do Arrepiado 2020 I Red wine from Alentejo - 75cl

Herdade do Arrepiado is a red wine from the Alentejo region, made from a single grape variety: Touriga Nacional. The wine is a deep, intense red, with hints of black fruit. Its attack is frank, its tannins well present and it offers a long persistence.

The Herdade do Arrepiado Velho vineyard is located in Sousel, about 40 kilometers from Portalegre, in the Alto Alentejo region. The vineyard was acquired in 2002 by the Antunes family, who launched an ambitious project: to make Arrepiado Velho an asset and a benchmark of excellence in the Alentejo.

33 hectares were planted from scratch, in a terroir that combines, in a rare way, schist soils with steep slopes, mild temperatures and an abundance of water, natural characteristics that indicate great potential.

David Booth, head of viticulture, and oenologist António Maçanita combined their knowledge, innovation and dedication and selected the red varieties Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, and the white varieties Antão Vaz, Chardonay, Viogner, Verdelho and Riesling.

The existing winery has been equipped with the most advanced technology and is duly sized for today's production of unique and seductive wines, born of modern oenology but sublime combined with respect for tradition.
